His father passed away in 2004...Is the grandson of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, who played 23 seasons for the Boston Red Sox from 1961-83 and was an 18-time All-Star, seven-time gold glover, three-time batting champion and also a triple crown and MVP winner...Married his college sweetheart Paige Cahill on Nov. 10, 2018 in Nashville, Tenn. The two welcomed their first child on Dec. 3, 2021...His first concert was the Backstreet Boys when he was eight. Became the first Giants rookie to hit 20-or-more homers in a season since Dave Kingman hit 29 in his rookie year of 1972...Finished the season tied for the team lead in homers with OF Kevin Pillar...Yastrzemski became the fifth player in the live-ball era to make his Major League debut in May or later and end up leading his team in homers that season...Never hit more than 15 home runs in a minor league season with the Orioles...counting his time in Triple-A with the Giants, he hit 33 homers across two levels in just 147 games...Was one of four rookies to hit at least 21 homers and post an .850 OPS...the others were NYM's Pete Alonso (53 HR, .941 OPS), HOU's Yordan Alvarez (27 HR, 1.067 OPS) and SD's Fernando Tatis Jr. (22 HR, .969 OPS)...
