After some lucky film buffs got to see the feature-length documentary about Bob Uecker at the Milwaukee Film Festival last month, we now have the first detail about the planned statewide theatrical release:
The film will open in Marcus Theatres throughout Wisconsin on Friday, July 24. You can see the new theatrical trailer right here.
It’s a funny and intimate look at Uecker’s incredible life in baseball and beyond. Filmmakers from the Milwaukee-based production studio The September Club began documenting his life during Spring Training 2023, and for nearly two years, Bob allowed them into his life with his family, his colleagues and his beloved Brewers players.
With his cooperation at every step before he passed away in January 2025, this is the definitive Uecker documentary. The film blends the styles of archival footage and “day in the life,” including the moment he told his friend Christian Yelich about his lung cancer diagnosis.
