As Chicago prepares to host the 2027 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, the Chicago Cubs are inviting residents from across the city to take part in the historic celebration through Chicago’s First Pitch to shine a light on individuals and organizations making a difference through leadership, service and dedication to their community.
Through Chicago’s First Pitch, a ceremonial baseball will travel through all 77 of Chicago’s community areas before arriving at Wrigley Field during 2027 MLB All-Star Week. Chicagoans can nominate themselves or someone else to represent their community and help carry the baseball on its journey across the city. Along the way, the Cubs will honor the people, organizations, businesses and institutions that make Chicago’s neighborhoods thrive.
The Cubs and Cubs Charities will select one honoree from each of Chicago’s 77 communities. Each honoree will participate in a ceremonial handoff of the baseball when the Cubs visit their respective community, celebrating the people, places and traditions that make each area of the city unique. The journey will conclude with the 77 honorees being recognized during MLB All-Star Week.
Currently accepting nominations through January 3, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
