Astros lose challenge in seventh inning vs. O's

BALTIMORE -- Orioles third baseman Manny Machado fielded a Dexter Fowler grounder while running to his left, spun around and threw to first base to narrowly get Fowler at first base for the final out of the seventh inning. Astros manager Bo Porter thought otherwise.

Porter rushed onto the field Saturday night and quickly challenged the call, believing Fowler had beaten the throw and should be safe with an infield hit. The umpires consulted instant replay and determined the call stood, which meant there was insufficient evidence to overturn the call.

Porter has now been successful on six of nine challenges this year.
