Brewers lose replay challenge in seventh inning

MILWAUKEE -- Brewers manager Ron Roenicke lost a challenge amid a seventh-inning rally Tuesday in the series opener against the Pirates.

Roenicke asked the umpires to take a second look at Lyle Overbay's groundout, which caromed off Pirates reliever Jared Hughes to third baseman Pedro Alvarez, who threw to first for an out. After a review of three minutes and 35 seconds, the longest of Roenicke's six challenges so far, the call stood.

The pause in action came amid a two-run Brewers rally that left them leading the Pirates, 5-1, going to the eighth inning.

The Brewers are now 3-3 in their challenges this season.
