Cubs, Nats to play two on June 28; off June 29
Saturday game turned into day-night twin bill because of annual Pride Parade

The clubs' Sunday, June 29, game at Wrigley Field has been moved to Saturday, June 28, as part of a rare scheduled doubleheader. It will be a separate-admission day-night affair, with the first pitch of Game 1 scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT. After the ballpark is cleared, fans will be admitted for a second game that begins at 6:15 p.m.
According to Cubs historian Ed Hartig, this will be the first scheduled doubleheader at Wrigley since July 4, 1983 -- a Monday twin bill against the Montreal Expos.
This change, according to the Cubs, was made at the request of Alderman Tom Tunney in consideration of neighborhood traffic and congestion in connection with Chicago's annual Pride Parade on June 29. The Cubs will now be off that day, while the Nationals will enjoy a day off at home before the start of a series against the Rockies at Nationals Park.
