Dodgers acquire INF Wilkins from Blue Jays

The Dodgers and Blue Jays swung a trade on Sunday, and infielder Andy Wilkins is going to Los Angeles in exchange for cash considerations.

Wilkins, 26, was batting .264 in 21 games for Triple-A Buffalo. The left-handed hitter, who was designated for assignment by Toronto on Saturday, was acquired by the Blue Jays on waivers from the Chicago White Sox on March 29. Wilkins, a veteran of six Minor League seasons, appeared in 14 games for the White Sox last year, his only Major League action.

The Dodgers designated right-handed pitcher Scott Baker for assignment to clear roster space for Wilkins. Baker, 33, was 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA in two starts with the Dodgers.
