Foot injury puts Doubront's next start in question

SEATTLE -- The A's have yet to determine whether lefty Felix Doubront, who suffered a right foot contusion Monday, will make his next scheduled start.

Doubront was seen limping around the clubhouse Tuesday afternoon, though he said he felt "a little better."

"He's a little sore today, as expected," manager Bob Melvin said. "We'll probably see how he is tomorrow and come up with some sort of game plan whether or not he's going to start."

Doubront took a comebacker to his foot in the first inning of Monday's outing in Seattle, completing just one more frame before being removed from the game to undergo X-rays that were negative.

The southpaw is penciled in for a Saturday start in Arizona, and if he's unable to go, the A's are likely to call on right-hander Aaron Brooks from Triple-A Nashville for the Interleague matchup with the D-backs.
