Lineup breakdown: Royals vs. Giants, Game 4

In Game 4 of the World Series, the Royals look to take a 3-1 lead behind left-hander Jason Vargas. The Giants, hoping to even the series at 2, send right-hander Ryan Vogelsong to the mound.

Game 4 airs tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX, with first pitch at 8:07 p.m.

ROYALS

The Royals are sticking with the same defense-first lineup that helped them win Game 3.

Kansas City didn't see Vogelsong earlier this year when San Francisco came to Kauffman Stadium, but second baseman Omar Infante is a sizzling .636 career hitter (7-for-11) against the righty.

Vogelsong struggled in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, allowing four runs in three innings.

GIANTS

The Giants faced Vargas earlier this year when the club visited Kansas City, and he held San Francisco to two runs on nine hits in five innings.

With the lefty on the mound, Juan Perez got the start in left field over Travis Ishikawa. Hunter Pence also moved up to the cleanup spot.

Buster Posey has homered off Vargas, while Pablo Sandoval is 3-for-9. Brandon Belt is 2-for-4 against the lefty, with a double.
