Tigers temporarily lose replay access vs. O's

DETROIT -- Major League Baseball's video replay system was temporarily unavailable for the Tigers in their 3-1 loss to the Orioles on Sunday at Comerica Park.

In the middle of the first inning, Detroit manager Brad Ausmus halted the series finale to inform umpire crew chief Gary Cederstrom that replay was down for his club, home-plate umpire Kerwin Danley got on a headset, then spoke with both managers. No challenge prompted the interruption.

After the game, Ausmus said he was without access to video review for "a little over half an inning." Cederstrom said despite the malfunction, "everybody could do their challenges" and that to the best of his knowledge, the system was fixed later in the game.

So far this season, Ausmus has been successful on two of his three challenges.
