White Sox lose challenge of strikeout in second inning

CHICAGO -- White Sox manager Robin Ventura challenged that a pitch hit catcher Tyler Flowers during the second inning of Friday's game against the Blue Jays.

Crew chief Tim Welke's initial call -- that Flowers struck out on a foul tip -- stood after a three-minute review, ending the inning with the bases loaded.

The White Sox led the Blue Jays, 6-4, at the time of the challenge after scoring five runs in the first.
