White Sox lose challenge on stolen base in ninth

Call stands after replay, allowing tying run to remain on second base

KANSAS CITY -- The White Sox lost a challenge in the ninth inning of their 7-6 victory over the Royals on Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

Manager Robin Ventura, looking to get the game's final out on a reversal, challenged second-base umpire Eric Cooper's ruling of a successful stolen base by Royals pinch-runner Jarrod Dyson with two outs.

Officials in New York ruled that Cooper's call stood.

After the review, Ronald Belisario struck out Lorenzo Cain to secure the White Sox win.
