Worth noting

• Outfielder Justin Maxwell is three games into his rehab assignment with Oklahoma City. Maxwell sustained the concussion against the Cardinals on June 25, but returned the field three days later as a pinch-runner against the Angels. He experienced symptoms from the concussion during that game and was placed on the DL on June 30.

• Outfielder Jimmy Paredes, who was brought up to replace Maxwell, was sent back down to Oklahoma City to make roster space for Cosart.

• In the 13 games since being recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, first baseman Brett Wallace is hitting .319 (15-for-47) with three home runs and 11 RBIs.
