• Reds reliever Jonathan Broxton (right elbow) left the team to join Triple-A Louisville for a rehab assignment that will begin on Tuesday. Broxton threw live batting practice to Reds hitters on Saturday in Los Angeles and it went well.

• Former Cubs pitcher and San Diego-area resident Mark Prior picked up his former manager, Baker, and took him to lunch on Monday. Prior was released by Louisville in June after he signed a Minor League deal in March.
