Dansby Swanson and Edward Cabrera, Cubs
Swanson was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 17 with a left oblique strain.
Cabrera developed a blister on his right middle finger in his first start off the injured list (left hamstring strain) on Aug. 16 and was placed back on the 15-day IL the following day.
Max Fried, Carlos Rodón, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge, Yankees
Fried was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 17 (retroactive to Aug. 14) with a left elbow bone bruise, the same injury with which he was previously sidelined from May 13 through July 22.
Rodón (left elbow inflammation) will return to start on Aug. 18 against the Orioles.
Bellinger (left hamstring strain) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 18 and could return shortly thereafter.
Judge (right rib stress fracture) played catch for the first time since the injury on Aug. 14. He has yet to resume swinging.
Konnor Griffin and Ryan O'Hearn, Pirates
Griffin (torn left ring finger sagittal band) is out of his splint and will head to the club's complex in Bradenton, Fla. on Aug. 19 to continue rehabbing. The Pirates are "optimistic" that Griffin could be ready to return as soon as he becomes eligible on Sept. 4.
O'Hearn (left quad strain) is participating in light baseball activities and will also head to the Bradenton complex on Aug. 19.
Trevor Story, Masataka Yoshida, Garrett Whitlock, Justin Slaten and Roman Anthony, Red Sox
Story (sports hernia), on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester, will play seven to nine innings at shortstop on Aug. 18-19 before being reevaluated for a potential return.
Yoshida was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 16 with a left hamstring strain. The Red Sox were awaiting the results of an MRI as of Aug. 17.
Whitlock and Slaten, both on the injured list with right elbow inflammation, are also awaiting results of Aug. 17 MRIs.
Anthony (partially torn tendon in right ring finger) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Portland on Aug. 18.
Justin Wrobleski, Blake Treinen, Will Smith and Tyler Glasnow, Dodgers
Wrobleski was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 16 with left forearm inflammation.
Treinen (right elbow inflammation) began a rehab assignment on Aug. 15 with Single-A Ontario.
Smith (inflamed disc in neck) experienced no issues after taking batting practice on Aug. 14 and participated in baseball recovery activities on Aug. 15.
Glasnow (lower back spasms) struck out eight batters across 3 2/3 innings in his third rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Aug. 14. He is expected to make his next, and likely final, rehab start on Aug. 19.
Nick Pivetta and Jason Adam, Padres
Pivetta (right elbow inflammation) has continued playing catch and building up his workload since being pulled off his rehab assignment on Aug. 4. His throwing program has been transferred to the club's complex in Peoria, Ariz.
Adam (right shoulder strain) played catch from around 90 feet on Aug. 17 and was pain-free.
Nolan Arenado, D-backs
Arenado left the D-backs' Aug. 16 game with left trunk discomfort. An MRI showed a minor injury to his left intercostal muscle, which he will attempt to play through after taking a game or two off to rest.
Jacob Wilson, Tyler Soderstrom and Denzel Clarke, Athletics
Wilson was a late scratch on Aug. 17 due to left shoulder soreness.
Soderstrom was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 16 with a left hip impingement.
Clarke (left hamstring strain) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Aug. 18. He will go through a Spring Training-type progression to build up to his return.
Graham Ashcraft, Reds
Ashcraft (right UCL sprain) will have his next live BP session on Aug. 18.
James Wood, Nationals
Wood (left oblique strain) is throwing but being handled cautiously as he continues to experience tightness in his injured oblique.
Austin Martin, Twins
Martin was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 17 with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.
Kyle Teel, White Sox
Teel (high left ankle sprain) took on-field batting practice for the first time on Aug. 17 and could begin a rehab assignment within about a week.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Spencer Arrighetti, Blue Jays
Guerrero was removed from the Blue Jays game on Aug. 14. after colliding with Yankees shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base. He was placed on the 7-day concussion IL on Aug. 15.
Arrighetti (Morton's neuroma) threw 50 pitches over 3 2/3 innings in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo on Aug. 16.
Brice Turang, Brewers
Turang was out of the Brewers' lineup through Aug. 16 due to left knee pain. An MRI showed no structural damage and he hopes to be back in the lineup on Aug. 18.
Jacob deGrom, Josh Jung and Jack Leiter, Rangers
deGrom left his start on Aug. 13 against the Angels after just two innings due to right triceps fatigue. He felt good playing catch on Aug. 16 but is unlikely to make his next start as scheduled on Aug. 19.
Jung (left calf strain) tested his calf by running on Aug. 16 and could progress to defensive drills in the coming days.
Leiter (right ankle arthroscopic surgery) may not require another rehab start before activation.
Chase DeLauter, Guardians
DeLauter left the Guardians' Aug. 16 game with mild left hamstring tightness.
Taylor Ward, Victor Robles, Colt Emerson and Matt Brash, Mariners
Ward was out of the lineup through Aug. 16 with leg soreness.
Robles was out of the lineup on Aug. 16 with right shoulder soreness, stemming from a rough landing on a catch attempt on Aug. 15.
Emerson was placed on the IL on Aug. 14 with left wrist tendon inflammation. He will see a specialist for a more thorough evaluation.
Brash (Grade 1 right lat strain) had a bullpen session on Aug. 15, his first time working off the mound since the injury.
Samuel Basallo, Blaze Alexander and Félix Bautista, Orioles
Basallo (right shoulder inflammation) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Aug. 16.
Alexander (left hand fracture) took batting practice and did full defensive work on Aug. 15 and could begin a rehab assignment during the week of Aug. 17.
Bautista (right shoulder surgery) threw another live batting practice session on Aug. 15 and could begin a rehab assignment by the end of the month.
Hunter Goodman, Rockies
Goodman was out of the Rockies' lineup through Aug. 17 with left shoulder inflammation, an ailment that dates back to a swing on Aug. 12 against the D-backs.
Willy Adames and Marcelo Mayer, Giants
Adames (back spasms) remained out of the lineup through Aug. 16. He could return during the Giants' Aug. 18-20 series against the Guardians.
Mayer (bone stress reaction, left ulna) could return during the Giants' upcoming Aug. 18-23 road trip.
