Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón, Yankees
Cole is scheduled to throw one inning in his first Grapefruit League action of the spring on March 18 against the Red Sox. It will be his first time appearing in a game since undergoing Tommy John surgery last March.
Rodón threw 30 pitches in live batting practice on March 14 and could have time to make one Grapefruit League appearance.
Seiya Suzuki, Cubs
An MRI revealed that Suzuki has a minor PCL sprain in his right knee, manager Craig Counsell announced on March 17. Suzuki will continue baseball activities through the weekend and be re-assessed to see if an IL trip is necessary. He originally left Team Japan's quarterfinal matchup against Venezuela with right knee discomfort following a first-inning stolen-base attempt.
José Berríos, Blue Jays
Berríos has a stress fracture in his right elbow and will miss Opening Day. However, manager John Schneider said that Berríos is pain free. The team hopes he will resume throwing soon and can pitch through the injury.
José Ramírez, Guardians
Ramírez left the Guardians' March 15 game after jamming his left shoulder sliding into third base. However, Manager Stephen Vogt said one day later that Ramírez was feeling much better. He is considered day to day.
J.P. Crawford and Bryce Miller, Mariners
Crawford (right shoulder soreness) visited Dr. Keith Meister in Texas on March 17 so the club could ensure it proceeds with the right treatment. He has missed five consecutive Cactus League games.
Miller (left side oblique inflammation) threw a full bullpen session of about 30 pitches without any restrictions on March 17. He reported feeling good afterwards.
Robert Stephenson, Angels
Stephenson (right elbow inflammation) has suffered a minor setback and will be evaluated by Dr. Keith Meister in Texas during the week of March 16.
Gavin Stone, Tommy Edman and Brusdar Graterol, Dodgers
Imaging revealed inflammation but no structural damage in Stone's right shoulder. He is pain free and could begin a throwing program later in the week of March 16.
Edman (right ankle surgery) is taking on-field batting practice and continuing to ramp up his running progression as of March 16.
Graterol (recovery right shoulder surgery) is ramping up to greater distances in his catch play. His velocity is down from where it is expected to be, so the Dodgers are slow-playing him.
Zack Wheeler and Orion Kerkering, Phillies
Wheeler (thoracic outlet decompression surgery) threw his first live batting practice session on March 14 and is scheduled to progress to a two-inning simulated game on March 18.
Kerkering (Grade 1 right hamstring strain) appeared in a Minor League game on March 17, his first game action this spring. He is expected to pitch in two Grapefruit League games before camp breaks. Opening Day remains a possibility.
Corbin Burnes, Gabriel Moreno and Pavin Smith, D-backs
Burnes (Tommy John surgery) threw his first short-box bullpen session March 13 and his second March 16.
Moreno was scratched on March 13 due to ongoing right forearm tightness. An MRI revealed no structural damage.
Smith was also scratched on March 13 due to left forearm tightness. The issue is not believed to be serious.
Jackson Holliday and Jordan Westburg, Orioles
Holliday (right hamate bone fracture) aims to play in Triple-A Norfolk's opener on March 27.
Westburg (partial UCL tear in right elbow) has been running, fielding ground balls and swinging a bat with his left hand as of March 16.
Josh Hader, Astros
Hader (left biceps tendinitis) was scheduled to throw his third bullpen session on March 17.
Mike Vasil, White Sox
Vasil will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery in the coming weeks.
Austin Martin and Trevor Larnach, Twins
Martin was removed from Minnesota's game against the Pirates on March 16 due to a concussion, a team official said. He will be held out of all baseball activities for at least two days.
Larnach (left side soreness) participated in some activities March 16 and reported that symptoms had improved. He is expected to go through a full workout March 19 following the team’s off day and is targeted to return to game action March 20.
