Aaron Judge, Yankees
Judge (right calf strain) was not on the Yankees' Division Series roster. He has participated in live batting practice and outdoor workouts, but manager Aaron Boone said Judge is just "not quite ready to do it." Judge might have been available to join the roster in a pinch-hitting role, but Boone said the club preferred to have its star continue recovering through the series. Judge will look for a return in a potential ALCS trip.
Shane McClanahan, Rays
McClanahan (left forearm tightness) was expectedly left off the ALDS roster. He has been playing catch and has not officially been ruled out for potential later rounds this postseason.
Mason Miller, Gavin Sheets and Casey Mize, Padres
Miller was placed on the paternity list on Oct. 6, prior to Game 3 of the NLDS. He will miss a minimum of one day and a maximum of three days.
Sheets was scratched from the Padres' NLDS Game 3 lineup due to neck stiffness.
Mize, placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 26 with a left ankle sprain, will be ineligible to return until at least the NLCS.
Miguel Rojas, Dodgers
Rojas exited NLDS Game 3 in the middle of his eighth-inning at-bat with low back pain.
Bryce Elder and Martín Pérez, Braves
Elder (right knee surgery) will not be available for the NLDS, but he is progressing well and could be an option for the NLCS if the Braves advance.
Pérez (lower back inflammation) will also not be available for the NLDS, though he similarly could be an option in a potential NLCS. He has played catch since his injury.
Joey Ortiz and Andrew Vaughn, Brewers
Ortiz made the NLDS roster after suffering a right knee injury on Sept. 24. Manager Pat Murphy said Ortiz is not at 100%, but the club felt like he was ready.
Vaughn (illness) was added to the NLDS roster.
Rhys Hoskins and Colin Holderman, Guardians
Hoskins (lower back inflammation) was healthy enough to join the ALDS roster, but Cleveland opted to add an extra pitcher instead. He will remain on the taxi squad in the event of an injury on the active roster.
Holderman (right wrist inflammation) will not return for the postseason. He will undergo surgery for the wrist injury that he said has plagued him since 2023. He had been throwing bullpen sessions, but the wrist kept bothering him.
