Saw the first Major League action of his career in 2022, starting 15 games...Made his Major League debut in the second game of the doubleheader on April 23 vs. Colorado, allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 5.0 innings...Allowed just one run on three hits and three strikeouts in 5.0 innings in his second big league start on April 30 at Los Angeles (NL)...became the first Tigers pitcher to begin his big league career by throwing 5.0 innings-or-more and allowing three hits-or-less in each of his first two starts since Victor Santos in 2001...Began his career by throwing at least 5.0 innings and allowing no more than three runs in each of his first four starts, the first Tigers pitcher to do so since Kyle Lobstein in 2014...Struck out a season-high seven batters on June 4 at New York (AL), allowing two runs on three hits with one walk in 6.0 innings...Earned his first Major League win on June 11 vs. Toronto, throwing 5.2 shutout innings with seven hits allowed and two strikeouts...Recorded the longest start of his rookie season on June 16 vs. Texas, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings with three hits allowed, two walks and six strikeouts...extended his streak of scoreless innings to 13.0, which was the longest by a Tigers rookie starting pitcher since Michael Fulmer in 2016...Placed on the injured list on July 21 (retroactive to July 18) with a right forearm muscle injury and missed the rest of the season.

Earned Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year honors in 2021 after combining for a 9-4 record with a 3.12 ERA (106.2IP/37ER) and 116 strikeouts in 21 starts between Single A West Michigan and Double A Erie....Named a Tigers Organization All-Star by MiLB.com...Ranked third in the Tigers player development system in wins and strikeouts, while he was sixth in innings pitched...Selected High A Central Pitcher of the Week twice during the season...received the honor for the week ending May 23 after allowing an unearned run on one hit with nine strikeouts in 6.0 innings at Wisconsin...also won the award for the week ending July 18 after throwing a 7.0 inning shutout with two hits allowed and nine strikeouts on July 15 at Fort Wayne....Started four games in July, posting a 2-1 record with a 2.82 ERA (22.1IP/7ER) and 27 strikeouts...Was promoted to Erie for the final two months of the season and allowed two runs-or-less in seven of his eight starts.
