Returned to a Major League mound and made his Texas debut after rehabilitation from ‘Tommy John’ ligament replacement surgery, starting three games in August before finishing the season on the IL with right shoulder tightness…went 0-1, 4.97 ERA (7 ER/12.2 IP) with 14 hits allowed (1 HR), 4 BB and 10 SO in his three GS, receiving just one run of support…did not pitch in Spring Training and started campaign on 60-day IL, making six rehab starts with ACL Rangers (Rk.), Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA), where he totaled a 2.50 ERA (5 ER/18.0 IP) with 18 SO…was a tough-luck loser on 8/6 vs. HOU in his first MLB start since 4/27/23 w/ MIN, yielding one run (earned) across 5.0 IP and 76 pitches in a 4-2 loss to the Astros…made starts on 8/12 at BOS (4.2 IP, 2 R-ER, 7 SO, 92 pitches) and 8/18 vs. MIN (3.0 IP, 4 R-ER, 1 SO, 61 pitches), then landed on the 15-day IL with right shoulder tightness on 8/20…transferred to 60-day IL 9/24, where he spent balance of season…struck out 10 of 56 (17.9%) batters faced with Texas…opponents batted .280/.339/.420/.759 (14-50) with one HR, one 3B and two 2B, including a .269 BA.
