Rays and Bayfront Health announce "Rays Fan for Life" program

The Tampa Bay Rays have announced a new collaboration with Bayfront Health which will launch on Opening Day with the new "Rays Fan for Life" program.

This season, Bayfront Health and the Rays have chosen to honor each baby born at the Bayfront Baby Place in St. Petersburg on March 31, 2014-Rays Opening Day-with a certificate granting them four (4) tickets to all future Rays home openers. These newborns will each receive a gift package delivered by Rays players and team mascot, Raymond. Later in the season, the children and their parents are invited to Tropicana Field for an on-field presentation inducting them to the Rays Fan for Life program.

"We are excited to enter into this agreement with a network as regionally focused as Bayfront Health," said Rays Senior Vice President Mark Fernandez. "The Rays Fan for Life program specifically will help future generations and their families feel a part of the Rays community."

In addition, each month, select Bayfront Health employees will be honored during a pre-selected game as part of the new Employee Recognition program. The employees who participate will receive a private meet-and-greet with a Rays player, a gift package and will be highlighted in-game for their work as an outstanding member of the Bayfront Health community. On April 20 when the Rays take on the New York Yankees, 2,100 members of the Bayfront Health community have been invited to Tropicana Field for Bayfront Health Day.

"As a regional flagship hospital for a network of seven hospitals stretching 150 miles along Florida's Gulf Coast, we are looking forward to our new relationship with the Tampa Bay Rays and reaching out to the communities we serve," said Bayfront Health Market President and CEO Kathryn J. Gillette. "All our hospitals enjoy Rays baseball whether it be in the spring training locations, across the expanse of the Rays radio network or in our backyard, here in St. Petersburg."
