VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
Shawn Carlson joined the Rays in November 2025 as the vice president of finance. In this role, he leads efforts of financial reporting, planning, analysis, and both short- and long-term forecasting. Prior to joining the Rays, he spent the previous 11 years as the CFO of Fast Forward Sports Group, overseeing all business and financial aspects of the Akron RubberDucks and Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp minor league baseball clubs. He was also a member of the acquisition team working with current ownership group leading up to and through club acquisition in 2025. A native of Northeast Ohio, he attended Kent State University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting while also working as a member of the university’s internal audit department. Upon graduation, he worked eight years at Bober, Markey, Fedorovich, serving clients in a variety of industries as a trusted advisor while earning his CPA in 2010. Shawn and his wife, Molly, reside in Tampa and have three children: Dominic, Alyssa and Austin. Both Shawn and Molly are also graduates of the four-year Jackson Bible Institute and School of Ministry located in Massillon, Ohio, and have been actively involved in a variety of roles within their church.
