Surprise Stadium

Located in Surprise, Ariz., 25 miles northwest of Phoenix, Surprise Stadium is the Spring Training home to the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. Surprise Stadium seats 10,500 fans and is located on a 124-acre site that includes six full practice fields and a half field, as well as separate clubhouse and office facilities.

Opened in 2002, Surprise Stadium hosts several Cactus League games each spring.

Driving Directions

From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport:
  1. Proceed West on I-10 to Route 101 North
  2. Take 101 North to Bell Road exit
  3. Go left on Bell Road for 5-6 miles and the Surprise Recreation Campus will be on the left
  4. To reach Surprise Stadium on game days, make a left on Bullard Avenue and park in one of the lots outside of the center field entrance

Items not allowed into the stadium

The following are additional security guidelines that Major League Baseball has implemented for the Spring Training Season for the safety of everyone:

  • No coolers of any size
  • No backpacks
  • No bags larger than 16" x 16" x 8"
  • All bags will be inspected before they are permitted into the ballpark
  • No cans, glass containers, or open containers
  • No alcohol or weapons
  • Gates will open 90 minutes prior to all home day games.(Subject to change)
