What kind of seating opportunities will be available during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

There are five actions that can be performed through the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event:

  1. Upgrade or relocate some or all your existing seats
  2. Upgrade or relocate some or all your existing seats and add additional seats
  3. Retain existing seats
  4. Retain existing seats and add additional seats
  5. Upgrade existing plan type to a different plan type

I have selected and reserved my new seats through the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event, is there anything else I need to do?

Yes, after you have reserved your new seating location(s) please login to your My Royals Tickets account to finalize the relocation process. Your new seats will be reserved under the ā€˜Renew/Make Payments Tabā€™ and you can either restart the payment plan or pay the balance in full. Please note, any payments made towards your Season Ticket Account before the relocation process will be credited to your Season Ticket Account and will be made available for you to apply.

After reviewing the options, I decided not to relocate. How do I keep my current seats?

No action is required to keep your current seats. If you do not find a desired seating location using our interactive map, exit the browser and your current seats will remain secure. You are still welcome to browse availability as our seating inventory will be updated online in real-time. If a Season Ticket Member relocates their seats, the old seat location will become available immediately after that transaction is made.

I have multiple Season Ticket Plans in my account. Can I upgrade all my plans at the same time?

You will only be able to relocate each plan separately. If you have multiple types of plans (i.e. Full Season and a Partial Plan), please only choose one plan at a time to relocate.

I have a Half Season and/or Partial Season Plan, will I be able to relocate my Opening Day seating location(s) during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

No, if you are interested in relocating your Opening Day seating location, please contact the Membership Services Department either by phone or email during your appointment window for assistance.

If I upgrade ticket plans, will my parking package automatically update?

No, after you have selected your new seats and/or ticket plan online please contact the Membership Services Department either by phone or email during your appointment window to update your parking package.

If I relocate to different seats, what happens to my old seats?

Once you have checked out, your former seat location(s) will be made available to other Season Ticket Members participating in the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event.

If I want to keep my original seats but also want to add on an additional seat(s), will I be able to do this during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

Yes, you will have the option to simply add seats to your account. Please note you will be responsible for any price differential.

Will I be able to leave a single seat by itself during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

You will not be allowed to leave a single seat stranded if you choose to relocate your seats.

If I upgrade my seating location and/or ticket plan; or add additional seat(s), am I required to pay the cost differential immediately?

Yes, if you make any changes to your account where there is a balance due, you will be required to submit payment through your My Royals Tickets account after your seats are reserved. After you have reserved your new seating location(s) please login to your My Royals Tickets account to finalize the relocation process. Your new seats will be reserved under the ā€˜Renew/Make Payments Tabā€™ and you can either restart the payment plan or pay the balance in full. Please note, any payments made towards your Season Ticket Account before the relocation process will be credited to your Season Ticket Account and will be made available for you to apply.

Can I relocate my seats more than once?

Only one relocation of seats is permitted during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event. Once you have completed the checkout process you will no longer be able to log in to the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event. As well, once you have checked out, your former seat location(s) will be made available to other Season Ticket Members participating in the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event.

After I've completed the relocation process, can I change my mind and get my old seats back?

Once you have selected your new seats and completed the checkout process your original seats will be released to be made available to other Season Ticket Members participating in the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event.

Which internet browser is recommended for the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

This site is compatible with all internet browsers.

Can multiple people associated with the same account access the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event Seat at the same time?

Only one person per account is allowed to log in to the system at a time.

What devices can I use to view and participate in the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

This site is compatible with the following devices: smartphones (e.g., iPhone and Android), desktops (e.g., Mac and PC), and tablets (e.g., iPad).

Can you tell me what seats are available in advance?

Due to the ever-changing inventory, we are unable to provide what seats will be available in advance.

Can I hold seats?

To make this process as fair as possible for all our Season Ticket Members, we are unable to reserve or hold seats.

What if I cannot attend my designated time slot?

If you are unable to participate in your assigned appointment window, you can assign an alternate contact to participate on your behalf. To assign someone to participate on your behalf, just provide them with the necessary login information that will be emailed to you on the day of your appointment. You are still welcome to browse availability after your appointment window as our seating inventory will be updated online in real-time. You will have access to the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event until Friday, February 3, 2023.

Will ADA/Handicap Accessible seats be available during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

Season Ticket Members requiring seats to an ADA-designated area will need to contact the Membership Services Department either by phone or email during their appointment window for assistance.

How will I access Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

The Royals will provide the main account holder with the necessary login info on the day of their appointment window. However, it is important to note that only one person at a time can be logged on to the website. Look for more details to be sent to your inbox on the date of your appointment.

When is the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

The event begins Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and ends Friday, January 26th, 2024. Current Season Ticket Members who have purchased for the 2024 season will be emailed a specific date and time for their virtual appointment window.

What are the primary benefits of the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

There are two key benefits:

  1. The online format will provide more Season Ticket Members with the opportunity to participate. Many Royals fans travel or vacation and therefore have prior commitments before the dates of the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event is announced. The online format should resolve this common occurrence; you can participate in the event if you're out of town. You can participate in the event from work or the comfort of your own home.
  2. The online model will enhance the quality of the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event. With the online format, you will have the ability to view available seats more quickly. Suppose you were at Kauffman Stadium for a Seat Upgrade Event and wanted to check the viewpoint from available seats in Section 115, Section 140, and Section 101; you probably spent over 15 minutes just walking from section to section. With the online format, you can easily check multiple seats within minutes and save time. Additionally, our seating inventory will be updated online in real-time. If a Season Ticket Member relocates their seats, the old seat location will become available immediately after that transaction is made. The waiting time for you is cut down significantly.

I'm very particular about viewing all the angles from new seats; will I lose that ability with the virtual format?

No. We understand this is a very important subject for our Season Ticket Members, so we are developing high-definition imagery of Kauffman Stadium that will capture all viewing angles. Every section will have clear images. Netting, overhang/cover, handrails, and stairs will be incorporated into the program in accurate, proportional context to the seating.

What if I have questions during the Virtual Seat Upgrade Event?

The Royals Membership Services team will be standing by via phone and email to field any questions you might have. We also developed a tutorial before the official event date so you can familiarize yourself with the program.
