Gardy doesn't know why Twins fare better on road

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins are one of just a handful of teams who have fared better on the road than at home this season; only six clubs have more wins away than at their home field entering play Friday.

The Twins are just 30-41 at Target Field, while they're 33-41 away from home. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he can't figure out why his club has had so many troubles at home this year.

"Wins are wins, but you definitely feel terrible about not winning at home," Gardenhire said. "Our fans come out to support this baseball team, and for us not to let them leave happy -- that's disappointing. We've always said, 'You have to take care of your home.' For whatever reason, I don't understand why we aren't winning here at home, but we have do a better job of that."

It's been part of a disturbing three-year trend for the Twins at Target Field after posting the best home record in baseball in 2010. The Twins went 33-48 at home in '11 and 31-50 at Target Field in '12.
