Twins to select Florimon, option Dozier

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will select the contract of infielder Pedro Florimon from Triple-A Rochester prior to tomorrow’s game against the Tigers.  Florimon, who was claimed off waivers by the Twins in December, has appeared in 83 games for the Red Wings hitting .251 (78-for-311) with three home runs and 27 rbi.  He will wear uniform number 25.

To make room for Florimon on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned shortstop Brian Dozier to Triple-A Rochester.  Dozier appeared in 84 games with the Twins hitting .234 (74-for-316) with six home runs and 33 rbi.
