White Sox Announce Two Roster Moves
ST. LOUIS - Prior to today’s game at St. Louis, the Chicago White Sox announced the following two roster moves:
- Recalled from Class AA Birmingham (1): INF Bryan Ramos;
- Placed on the 10-day injured list (1): INF Danny Mendick with lower back tightness (retroactive to May 2).
Ramos, 22, is hitting .182 (16-88) with five doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, seven walks and nine runs scored in 24 games with Class AA Birmingham this season. He has hit safely in his last eight games, going 11-33 (.333) with five doubles, two homers, seven RBI and seven runs scored. Ramos entered the season rated by MLB.com as the No. 4 prospect and by Baseball America as the No. 4 prospect in the White Sox system.
Ramos has no major-league experience and will wear uniform No. 44. He is a career .255/.342/.428 (377-1,476) hitter with 67 doubles, 56 home runs, 230 RBI, 160 walks and 230 runs scored in 391 games over four seasons in Chicago’s system. Ramos, a native of La Habana, Cuba, originally was signed by the White Sox as a free agent on July 2, 2018.
Mendick, 30, is hitting .256/.293/.410 (10-39) with three doubles, one homer and three RBI in 10 games with the Sox since his contract was selected from Charlotte on April 22.
