The World Baseball Classic returns to Houston for a pair of quarterfinal matchups this weekend, and Daikin Park is ramping up its fan offerings for the single-elimination stage of the tournament.
Fans arriving early can hit the Crawford Street plaza, where the Fan Zone opens at 5 p.m. CT on Friday (USA vs. Canada) and noon CT on Saturday (Puerto Rico vs. Italy) -- two hours before first pitch each day -- and stays open through the end of the first inning, offering live music, VR baseball experiences, inflatables, photo booths, face painters, caricature artists and more.
Astros legend and Puerto Rico native Jose "Cheo" Cruz will be at the Fan Zone on Saturday, signing autographs and meeting fans before Puerto Rico takes on Italy.
Saturday’s game will also feature $1 hot dogs throughout the ballpark, available while supplies last.
The Food and Drink passport is back, too, giving fans a chance to sample flavors from around the globe and collect stamps at specialty concession stands around the park. Pick up your passport on the center-field concourse near Hall of Fame Alley.
