Throughout the 2023 season, the Future A's Coach of the Month program will feature a local Bay Area little league coach who exemplifies the winning combination of passion for the game and going above and beyond to help the next generation of baseball and softball legends. Congratulations to the honorees!
Richmond Little League
"Mark has been President of Richmond Little League for 16 years. He gives an endless amount of free time getting everything together for the league and coaching a team every year. I do not think this position gets much thanks. But we would love to thank him with this honor."
Washington Manor Junior League
"David has been part of our league for the past 17 years. He has been the president for the past eight and has done a fantastic job at keeping the league together. He always steps up to the plate. This year he is coaching four teams! He always encourages the kids to do the best they can. He's a great role model to his four sons and all of the kids in the league. He puts in so many hours, coaching the kids and taking care of our fields. I don't want him to think that goes unnoticed."

"Andre doesn't take a day off. He's very relentless in getting things done for the children. He goes well out of his way to make sure everything is going how it should be. He often goes to the mission to feed homeless and children, and pays out of his own pocket to make sure kids have gloves and cleats."
Alameda Little League
"My husband, Norm McBride, has been involved with Alameda Little League since our oldest son started in Tee Ball back in 2015. Since then, he has continuously managed teams for our kids in both the Spring and Fall Seasons. Last Spring, he actually Managed all 4 of our kids' teams at the same time! Even taking our oldest son to one game shy of the Championship! But he doesn't just focus on wins or the kids with talent. He brings the entire team up! His motto has always been, "I can't promise you a win, but I can promise you a good time!" He measures success by the number of kids that return to play the next season. Even if players wind up on different teams down the line, he tells them that he will always be their coach and has even met up with kids that are not on one of his teams to get in extra work and improve their game. Parents always come up to me and comment how they have never seen any coach so dedicated to the success of the players and give of himself so selflessly, even if it means coaching a kid from the opposing team during a game! All the while that he is Managing, he is also the Equipment Director for our league. During COVID it has been a challenge to manage the supply chain. His solution to not being able to order uniforms was simply to make them himself! Our family worked together to make sure that every kid had what they needed to take the field and look great doing it! I know that the first thing Norm will say when he finds out that he has been nominated is that he could never have done any of this alone. He is surrounded by assistant coaches, co-directors and team parents who have all supported him through the years. They would all tell you though, that there is no other coach they would have stuck by! He truly is something special and deserving of this recognition!!!"

"Russell works tirelessly as a nurse for Kaiser and as a coach and father to both his sons, Ian and Xavier. His love for the A's is as diehard as he is a father. He’s up early for tournaments and gives up his weekends to practice with his boys. His love for baseball is year round and I am proud to nominate Russell as Coach of the Month."

"Ever since Corrin was a little girl, she has given her heart and soul to Alameda Girls Softball. First as a young girl and now as a phenomenal coach. She is skilled, patient, and most of all, the girl's biggest cheerleader and friend. Corrin coaches alongside her husband, and now have the honor of watching her own daughter and little sister play. We love you coach Corrin."
