The Atlanta Braves and our Latino communities unite in the desire to celebrate our roots and honor the traditions set by those that came before us. A unique tradition celebrated across Latino communities is that of honoring, remembering, and celebrating the memories of loved ones who are no longer here. An Altar or Ofrenda serves as a bridge of connection between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
An ofrenda showcases the favorite things of the loved ones who are no longer with us. Food and drinks, flowers such as cempasuchiles (marigolds), personal items, and photos give us the opportunity to remember and celebrate the joyful moments of their lives that we now carry in our hearts.
