It’s been an impressive few years for the Brewers farm system.

Whether it’s the emergence of the “The Freshmen” – the quartet of top prospects Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, Joey Wiemer and Brice Turang – or the meteoric rise of No. 3 prospect Jackson Chourio, the Crew has captured plenty of headlines in the Minor Leagues.

This week, three Brewers prospects were named to the 2023 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game: Chourio, Jeferson Quero and Jacob Misiorowski.

Here’s what you need to know about these stud prospects.

Jackson Chourio, OF, Double-A Biloxi

Few prospects have garnered as much attention at the 19-year-old Chourio over the last season-plus. The Brewers No. 1 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 3 overall prospect shot up the rankings last season while working his way from complex ball to Double-A Biloxi.

With a blend of top-end speed, elite defense and power to all fields, Chourio’s tools rank among the most enticing in all of Minor League Baseball. The Venezuela native put those skills on display while dominating nearly every level he played at last season to the tune of 20 homers, 16 steals and an .897 OPS.

While Chourio hasn’t set the world on fire the same way this year in Biloxi, it’s important to note he started the season as the youngest player at the Double-A level. The teenage phenom has still put up respectable numbers, including a .252 average, 10 homers and 21 stolen bases.

The Brewers hope Chourio will continue to show growth in the second half of the season. Perhaps that will start at the Futures Game in Seattle.

Jeferson Quero, C, Double-A Biloxi

While the Brewers have been excited about Quero’s potential for years, the rest of the prospect world is starting to catch on to the 20-year-old catcher’s talent this year.

Quero has climbed the rankings this season while playing in Double-A, reaching top-100 status as MLB Pipeline’s No. 79 prospect and No. 3 Brewers prospect. That ascension can be attributed to the emergence of his bat: he’s slashed a healthy .265/.338/.475, good for an .813 OPS and 117 wRC+.

Still, Quero’s calling card is his defense behind the plate. The Venezuela product has drawn rave reviews for both his prowess as a backstop and his ability to handle his pitching staff.

With an impressive showing at the Futures Game, Jeferson might just see his stock continue to rapidly rise.

Jacob Misiorowski, P, High-A Wisconsin

Quero isn’t the only Brewers prospect to open eyes this year. Pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski has shot up lists as well while blowing hitters away with his exciting stuff.

A second-round pick out of Crowder College, Misiorowski started the year at Low-A Carolina. In 26.2 innings, the righty struck out 46 hitters for an ultra-impressive 15.5 K/9 ratio. He’s kept up that dominance since being promoted to High-A Wisconsin earlier this month, accumulating a 1.15 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 15.2 innings.

At 6’7”, Misiorowski is more than a physical specimen: he also touches triple digits with his fastball and spins a wipeout slider. His nasty pitch mix has helped him gain status as MLB’s No. 93 prospect and the Crew’s top pitching prospect.

With the organization’s recent success developing pitchers like Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta, the Brewers hope Misiorowski can carry the torch in the years to come.
