Your Guide to Brewers at the World Baseball Classic

March 9th, 2023

The 2023 World Baseball Classic is officially underway! Many of baseball’s brightest stars will represent their countries at this year’s tournament, including 14 players from the Brewers organization representing 10 different countries.

With all eyes on the international stage, here’s what Brewers fans should watch for at the World Baseball Classic.

Brewers Provide Power for Team Mexico

Brewers fans will want to keep tabs on Team Mexico throughout the tournament, thanks to two big bats ready to rake.

Rowdy Tellez and Luis Urias will go to battle for a talented Mexico squad, joining the likes of some elite MLB talent in Randy Arozarena, Julio Urias and Jose Urquidy.

Tellez is one of the most feared bats in Mexico’s lineup – no fellow MLB players on Mexico’s squad belted more home runs than Rowdy last season.

Among many household names, Willy Adames and Joel Payamps headline the Brewers contributions to this must-watch squad.

For Brewers fans, it’s a chance to watch Adames compete alongside some of the best in the world – including Manny Machado and reigning World Series MVP Jeremy Pena – and a chance to see Payamps face-off against a strong Pool D
