MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers announced their 2025 award winners as selected by a panel from the Milwaukee Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA).
Second baseman Brice Turang was voted Brewers Most Valuable Player as he batted .288 with 18 HR, 81 RBI and 24 SB in 156 games. Turang is a Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove Award finalist. He led the Major Leagues in runs (94) and RBI (81) from the second base position this season.
Freddy Peralta was unanimously voted Brewers Most Valuable Pitcher, going 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA in 33 starts this season. Peralta led the National League in wins and ranked among the leaders in opponent AVG (2nd, .193), H/9IP (2nd, 6.32), ERA (4th), K/9IP (4th, 10.39), WHIP (5th, 1.08) and strikeouts (6th, 204).
Pitcher Quinn Priester earned Brewers Top Newcomer honors after going 13-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 29 games/24 starts. From May 30 to September 18, the team won 19 consecutive games (16 starts) in which he appeared. Priester was acquired from Boston on April 7 for OF Yophery Rodriguez, a Competitive Balance Round A selection and a player to be named (RHP John Holobetz).
Pitcher Aaron Ashby was voted Brewers Unsung Hero. The left-hander appeared in a career-high 43 games this season (1 start) and went 5-2 with a 2.16 ERA and 3 saves. Opponents batted just .227 and he posted a 1.17 WHIP while stranding 17 of 22 inherited runners.
Designated hitter Christian Yelich received the Good Guy Award, which is presented to the player who has the most outgoing, friendly presence in the clubhouse and interacts well with the media on a daily basis in a cooperative and pleasant manner. He also won the award in 2023.
