Cardinals sign four more players to professional contracts

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have agreed to terms with four additional players with two from this month's amateur draft.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have agreed to terms with four additional players with two from this month's amateur draft.  
Agreeing to terms today were third baseman from the University of Pittsburgh, Liam Sabino (35th round); third baseman from the University of California-Irvine, Cole Kreuter (36th round) and two non-drafted free agents, right-handed pitcher Jacob Sylvester out of Mid-America Nazarene and catcher Joe Freiday, Jr., from Virginia Tech. 
Today's announcement brings the total number of 2018 draftees signed and/or agreed to terms to 36 players. Six of the 41 draft picks remained unsiged, with three of the players still participating in the NCAA Division 1 College World Series, Texas Tech's Steven Gingery (4th round) and North Carolina's Brandon Riley (14th round) and Zack Gahagan (39th round).
