D-backs Nike RBI

D-backs Nike RBI is a free youth outreach program for children ages 5-18. The program is designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball, encourage academic achievement and teach the value of teamwork.

The D-backs Nike RBI program was launched in 2020 under Major League Baseball's Nike Jr. RBI recreational program. The mission is to re-introduce, revive, and rebuild interest and participation in baseball and softball among underserved youth in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs.

The D-backs Nike RBI program, administered by MLB's Baseball & Softball Development Department, is designed to provide youth in under served communities opportunities to play baseball and softball.

The D-backs Baseball Academy, supported by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation runs a summer baseball league which provides an opportunity for inner city students to travel and play season games at D-backs Major League Facilities. The D-backs Academy will select the All-Star Team to experience the Nike RBI Regionals in Seattle, Washington. After selection, the D-backs Academy Coaches will run a few practices in advance of travel to the Nike RBI Regional Tournament and will provide uniforms to the All-Star Team.

Students/players represented in the 2023 D-backs Nike RBI Team are from the following schools: Alhambra, Betty Fairfax, Central, Cesar Chavez, Maryvale, Metro Tech, North, South Mountain, and Trevor G. Browne.

Timeline

April 26 - June 11: Registration

June 12: League Play Begins

June 28: League Play Concludes

June 30: All-Star Team Selection

July 3 - July 12: All-Star Team Practices

July 13 - July 16: Nike RBI Regionals in Seattle, Washington

Nike RBI Tournament Play

• All organizations who meet the tournament eligibility requirements can compete against other Nike RBI Leagues from the United States and abroad in Nike RBI Sectional and eight Regional Tournaments for the opportunity to advance to the Nike RBI World Series, held each August. The eight Tournament Regions include: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, World, Southwest, East, Central and West.
• Nike RBI Tournament play includes three divisions: Senior Baseball (16-18), Junior Baseball (13-15) and Girls' Softball (14-18).
• For baseball, the Nike RBI program uses the May 1st cut-off date to determine a player's league age for tournament play.

The D-backs Nike Jr. RBI program introduces youth under the age of 12 to baseball, with a focus on the fundamentals. The program is free to all participants and takes place one day a week, at Boys & Girls Clubs across Metro Phoenix.

Participants will enjoy clinics through the four-week program, hosted by the D-backs Baseball Academy; in which they will receive a beginner baseball glove, hat, and Nike shirt – as well as the opportunity to participate in MLB programs such as Pitch, Hit, & Run and the Jr. Home Run Derby.

The D-backs Jr. RBI program introduces youth under the age of 12 to baseball, with a focus on the fundamentals. The program is free to all participants and takes place one day a week, at Boys & Girls Clubs across Metro Phoenix.

Participants will enjoy clinics through the seven-week camp, hosted by the D-backs Baseball Academy; receive a beginner baseball glove, an invitation to D-backs Jr. RBI Night and the opportunity to participate in MLB programs such as Pitch, Hit & Run and the Jr. Home Run Derby.
