June 20: Picks up RBI double in defeat
CJ Abrams provided one of the few bright spots for Double-A San Antonio on Sunday. His ground-rule double in the third inning got the Missions on the board and accounted for one of their two runs in an 8-2 loss to Northwest Arkansas. Baseball's No. 8 prospect exploded for four hits and four RBIs on Friday, but he is just 2-for-17 in five other games over the past week. Gameday »

June 19: 0-for-4 night follows breakout
Abrams couldn't get it going with the bat Saturday night as the Padres' No. 2 prospect went 0-for-4 at the dish following his offensive explosion on Friday. It was Abrams' sixth game with zero hits in his past nine starts. Gameday »

June 18: Four-hit, four-RBI night breaks slump
It was only a matter of time before CJ Abrams broke out of his slump. Abrams was hot out of the gate Friday night, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored to fuel Double-A San Antonio's 14-6 win over Northwest Arkansas. The Padres' No. 2 prospect hit two run-scoring doubles in the fourth and in the seventh, tallying nine on the season now. He also slapped two singles, driving in a run in the fifth. Abrams was hitting .173 over his past seven starts, but the big performance brought his season average back over .300 from .287 to .307. The shortstop in the other dugout, Royals top prospect Bobby Witt Jr., didn't have a a bad night either, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Gameday »

June 17: Hitless in second night in a row
CJ Abrams had another hitless game Thursday night, his second in a row. He went 0-for-3 on the night, as Double-A San Antonio lost to Northwest Arkansas. He is now hitting .173 over the past seven games with one extra-base hit in that span. Gameday »

June 16: Reaches on HBP
Abrams had another quiet night for Double-A San Antonio, going 0-for-3 and getting hit by a pitch. Abrams has had four hits in his past 20 at-bats and has four hitless performances in his past six games with the exception being a three-hit performance on Sunday. Gameday »

June 15: Caught stealing for first time
Abrams went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly as part of San Antonio's 5-3 victory. His 35 hits are tied for the 10th most among all Double-A Central batters. San Diego's No. 2 prospect was also caught stealing for the first time this season, making him 9-for-10 on the year and 24-for-31 across his first 64 professional games. Gameday »

June 13: Doubles, steals and drives in two
That slump didn't last long for CJ Abrams. After going 0-for-10 in his past three games, Abrams tallied three hits in a 12-6 win for Double-A San Antonio. The No. 8 overall prospect in baseball went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored, a steal and a walk. He pushed his season average back over .300 with the performance, sitting at .301. June 12: Fails to reach base
CJ Abrams seems to be in the midst of a mini-slump right now, as the Padres' No. 2 prospect has failed to record a hit in his past three games. June 11: Doubles and steals another base
CJ Abrams started 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on Friday night, but he managed to recover and slap a two-run double in the seventh. Abrams walked and swiped his eighth bag of the year in Double-A San Antonio's win over Midland as well. June 10: Another steal for Abrams
CJ Abrams had a quiet night with the bat, going 0-for-3 at the dish with a walk, but he still managed to swipe another bag in Double-A San Antonio's win. It was his seventh steal of the season and he has yet to be caught on the basepaths. He has reached base in five straight games. Gameday »

June 9: Stays perfect on the basepaths
CJ Abrams continued his recent roll at the plate and on the basepaths Wednesday for Double-A San Antonio. The Padres' No. 2 prospect went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored. He also recorded his sixth stolen base and remains perfect in six steal attempts this year. Abrams is 8-for-18 at the plate in his previous four games and is now batting .306 this season. Gameday »

June 8: Singles, scores in win

CJ Abrams filled his box score with two singles, two runs and an RBI in a 9-2 victory for Double-A San Antonio on Sunday. June 5: Trifecta of hits, runs in blowout
CJ Abrams made sure to remind everyone his ankle is just fine. The No. 8 overall prospect in baseball scored three runs for Double-A San Antonio and slapped three singles in a 3-for-5 night. June 4: Collects RBI in hitless night
Despite a hitless performance, CJ Abrams still managed to make an impact for Double-A San Antonio, tallying an RBI on a first-inning groundout. Abrams went 0-for-4 on the night as his average dipped to .275. He has just two hits in his past 14 at-bats since returning from an ankle injury. Gameday »

June 3: Second straight game with a stolen base
Abrams returned to a designated hitter role after appearing for six innings at shortstop last night. And while San Diego is monitoring Abrams' return to play from a foot injury closely, he continues to receive a green light on the basepaths, stealing a base for the second straight game. San Diego's no. 2 prospect played all nine innings tonight, recording a single, a sacrifice fly, a run scored, and a hit by pitch in addition to his stolen base. After being held out of Tuesday's game, CJ Abrams returned to play shortstop Wednesday. The No. 8 overall prospect in baseball slapped a single and stole a base in his return, going 1-for-3 on the night before being lifted for a defensive replacement in the seventh inning.
