ARLINGTON -- After dealing away three impending free agents, the Giants capped a frenetic Trade Deadline by dealing outfielder Heliot Ramos to the Yankees on Monday.
The Giants received a pair of top prospects in return: left-hander Henry Lalane (previously the Yankees' No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline) and infielder Kaeden Kent (No. 13) -- the son of Hall of Famer Jeff Kent.

The Giants also reached a deal to send left-hander Erik Miller and outfield prospect Carlos Gutierrez to the Red Sox in exchange for former top infield prospect Marcelo Mayer.

All told, the Giants pulled off five trades in the final 24 hours before the Deadline, with All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez and right-hander Caleb Kilian going to the Phillies, left-hander Robbie Ray heading to the Padres and right-hander Tyler Mahle landing with the Braves as part of a dramatic sell-off.
Ramos, who turns 27 in September, was under team control through 2029, but the Giants opted to take advantage of the strong demand for right-handed bats on the trade market this year.
A 2017 first-round Draft pick out of his native Puerto Rico, Ramos debuted with the Giants in 2022 and broke out with an All-Star campaign in ‘24, when he batted .269 with a .791 OPS and 22 home runs over 121 games. He became the first homegrown Giants outfielder to make an All-Star team since Chili Davis in 1986 and was the longest-tenured position player on the club’s roster.
Ramos missed a little over a month with a right quad strain this year, but he was still hitting .264 with a .728 OPS and nine home runs over 74 games.
“My heart was beating hard when I saw it on the TV,” Ramos said at Globe Life Field on Monday. “But I feel like I’m in a good spot. If they trade for me, it’s because they want me, obviously, so I'm very proud. I mean, it’s the Yankees.”
Lalane, 22, is 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA and 98 strikeouts over 78 innings in 16 appearances (15 starts) between Single-A Tampa and High-A Hudson Valley this year. Kent was batting .302 with a .792 OPS over 76 games for High-A Hudson Valley in 2026. The 22-year-old Kent was a third-round Draft pick of the Yankees out of Texas A&M last year.
