Braves-Phillies postponed by rain Wed.; twin bill set for Sept. 11

June 22nd, 2023

PHILADELPHIA -- The middle game of the three-game series between the Braves and Phillies on Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park was postponed because of rain.

It was rescheduled as the first game of a split-admission doubleheader on Sept. 11.

Phillies right-hander (6-5, 4.66 ERA) and Braves right-hander (1-0, 2.03 ERA) were scheduled to pitch Wednesday. The Braves will now have face Nola on Thursday afternoon (1:05 p.m. ET).

The Phillies will push back everybody in their rotation one day because of the postponement. So this weekend against the Mets at CBP it will be Taijuan Walker on Friday, Cristopher Sánchez on Saturday and Zack Wheeler on Sunday.

Atlanta’s probable starters for this weekend’s series in Cincinnati are Smith-Shawver on Friday, Jared Shuster on Saturday and Charlie Morton on Sunday.

The Phillies said tickets for Wednesday’s game will be valid for the newly scheduled 1:05 p.m. game on Sept. 11.

The game originally scheduled on Sept. 11 will remain at 6:40 p.m.
