Game 2 of doubleheader against Nats pushed to Saturday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies’ postseason magic number is five with six games to play.

They hoped to reduce that number even further with a victory over Washington in Game 2 of the doubleheader on Friday at Nationals Park, but the nightcap was postponed because of rain. The teams will try to play a split doubleheader on Saturday. Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. The Phillies announced that right-hander will pitch Game 1. Right-hander will pitch Game 2.

Tickets and parking passes from Friday night’s game will be honored on Saturday night. Complete details on ticket exchanges for those unable to attend the rescheduled game are available at nationals.com/rain.

Syndergaard had been scheduled to pitch Game 2 on Friday night after the Phillies won the opener, 5-1.
