CINCINNATI -- The Reds announced Tuesday that they signed the only high school player they selected in the 2021 MLB Draft, 30th overall pick Jay Allen.

Allen, an outfielder from John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, Fla., was a compensation pick from losing starting pitcher Trevor Bauer as a free agent to the Dodgers. Per MLB Pipeline's Jim Callis, Allen signed for $2.4 million, just about at slot value.

Cincinnati also signed its second-round selection, left-handed pitcher Andrew Abbott from the University of Virginia. According to Callis, Abbott signed for $1.3 million, just below the $1.37 million value assigned to the No. 53 overall pick.

The Reds also signed or agreed to terms with several other picks, including shortstop José Torres (third round), right-handed pitchers Thomas Farr (fifth round), Kevin Abel (seventh round), Hunter Parks (eighth round), outfielder Jack Rogers (ninth round), right-hander Donovan Benoit (10th round), righty Julian Aguiar (12th round), catcher Michael Trautwein (13th round), outfielder Blake Dunn (15th round), right-hander Owen Holt (16th round), third baseman Austin Callahan (18th round) and righty Ryan Cardona (19th round).
