Frequently Asked Questions
I haven't touched a baseball in 30 years and am afraid I will make a fool of myself.
This is the single biggest concern we have amongst new campers. We can't stress enough that there is no pre-requisite for experience, talent or physical prowess. The camp is meant to be fun, and we have campers of all ages and abilities. We only require that you enjoy the game of baseball and the Red Sox.
Do most people attend with a friend or attend on their own?
We have a great mix of attendees. We have friends coming down together, father/son combinations, co-workers, etc. In addition, we have many campers (almost 75%) who come down completely on their own. If you do happen to come alone, there are many opportunities to meet and socialize with other campers, and many new lifelong friendships have been started at camp.
Do I need a rental car?
Transportation is provided to/from the Airport and the Hotel, as well as the Hotel and the ballpark each day. It is not necessary to rent a car and is entirely up to you if you decide to do so.
What is the average age of a camper?
The minimum age to attend camp is 30 years old. Our campers range in age from 30 - 78 years old. Regardless of age, each camper has the same opportunity to play.
What equipment do I need for camp?
We provide a full authentic home and road Red Sox uniform. We also provide all bats, helmets, catchers gear and other general baseball equipment. Each camper should bring their own glove, cleats and any accessories they may want for the week (sunglasses, batting gloves, etc).
Are there photographers available to capture the week's events?
Yes. We have professional photographers on site throughout the week to capture the events. Photos will be available for purchase both at the camp and afterward.
Are family and friends allowed at camp?
Yes. Friends, family and fans alike are allowed to attend all games free of charge. If you wish to have your family member or friend attend the functions, these are available at an additional charge and can be purchased on an individual basis or through a spectator package which includes access to all events, as well as other special amenities.
What is the Fantasy Camp Reunion game?
All campers are invited to take part in a reunion game at Fenway Park during the 2019 season. This is an additional charge, but includes a ticket to a Red Sox game, and the opportunity to play a game at Fenway Park the following day. See the Fenway Reunion tab for more detail on this exclusive opportunity.
What kind of physical shape should I be in for camp?
We recommend that every camper try to be in the best shape possible to ensure their Fantasy Camp experience is enjoyed to its fullest. That said, we realize that nobody attending is a professional athlete, so Olympic training ahead of time is in no way required. We also have the Red Sox professional training staff on site to help with any injuries or sore muscles that may result from a week at camp.

"Fantasy Camp is great for players of all ages, abilities. It's a true once in a lifetime experience...one that I've done three times and am looking forward to number four."
- Jack Sandler, 2019
"Everything about camp was "major league" all the way. From the moment I was met at the airport, until the "disappointment" of losing the championship game I was allowed to live my dream of playing baseball. I will never forget the thrill of hearing my walk-up music and having Joe Castglione announce my name as I came to bat. The support that you receive from your teammates is fantastic and more importantly the ability to form friendships with people who share your dreams is extraordinary. I look forward to returning!"
- Mike DiPalma, 2019
"Being a lifelong baseball fan and player, this is the experience of a lifetime. It's not just about playing baseball, it's the friendships that you develop with the coaches and other fans from all over the world! You play alongside each other and have such a fun time. By the end of the week they become like a part of your family. Memories are made and never forgotten."
- Wayne Martins, 2019
"I signed up for Red Sox Fantasy Camp with every intention of it being an once-in-a-lifetime experience for my 40th birthday. By the end of the first day I felt like I was in some surreal alternate universe, from seeing your locker, to taking BP off of Oil Can, to being greeted by El Tiante while waiting for your morning coffee, was already a collection of experiences I never expected to have... yet it was only Monday. As the week continued, the experience only got better and by Wednesday, once in a lifetime had turned into "I wonder if I can make it back sometime." By the end of the week, as I made my way through the handshake line after our game with the pros, several of the pros asked if I would be back next year, my answer took only one word: "Yes.""
- Scott Vibert, 2019
"If you're wondering if this camp is worth doing more than once, the answer is a resounding "YES!" The first year was magical: meeting the pros, playing at JetBlue, the social events and sense of brotherhood amongst the campers. But my second year had even more depth, and built perfectly upon my rookie year. I plan on returning every year and expect the experience to grow each time."
- Frank Drigotas, 2019
"I have attended two fantasy camps 2018 & 2019. Both were awesome experiences with the 2019 experience exceeding my expectations! The Bombers team coached by Rich Gedman, Dave Smith, and Rico Petrocelli was a great team with good chemistry and sportsmanship. The coaches constantly reminded us how beautiful and fun the game and week was to be. Our team gelled well together and went 5-0 before getting beat in the semi-finals. An experience I will never forget! Can't wait for RSFC 2020!"
- Heath Baker, 2019
"What started out as a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to play baseball with my father and some of our idols has turned into an annual pilgrimage to visit "family." The level of camaraderie and brotherhood is what keeps us coming back. What I miss most about competitive sports is the locker room and dugout banter, the high fives in celebration, and encouragement upon missed opportunities. We get all of that and more which makes us yearn for Red Sox Fantasy Camp every year."
- Jeff Vachon, 2019
"I was blown away with how RSFC works... I've had friend go down in the past and heard the stories. I set a goal to go to camp for my 40th birthday and stuck to it! I'm not a wealthy man by any stretch of the imagination and after I made my final payment and was set to go, I began to wonder "Will I be disappointed? Are my expectations too high? Will I enjoy it?" The moment I walked through the door at the hotel, ALL my worries went away! I walked into the bar and was greeted by Oil Can and Bob Stanley walks up and taps me on the shoulder "First time? You're gonna love it" All the veterans were friendly and want to know your story. Most finish their story with "see you next year" I would reply "I'm one and done". Fast forward 7 days later... I cannot wait to go back! Don't know when it will be, but I look forward to going back and seeing all my RSFC friends again!"
- Brian Cote, 2019
