Frequently Asked Questions

I've never played baseball (or softball) before. Will I be okay?

There is no pre-requisite for baseball/softball experience, talent or physical prowess. The camp is meant to be fun, and we will have campers of all ages and abilities. We only require that you enjoy the game of baseball and the Red Sox!

Do most people attend with a friend or attend on their own?

Fantasy Camp is great to attend with a family member/friend or solo! We expect to have friends coming down together, sisters, co-workers, etc. If you do happen to come alone, there are many opportunities to meet and socialize with other campers, and hopefully develop friendships will last beyond Fantasy Camp.

Do I need a rental car?

Transportation is provided to/from the Airport and the Hotel, as well as the Hotel and the ballpark each day. It is not necessary to rent a car and is entirely up to you if you decide to do so.

What equipment do I need for camp?

We provide a full authentic home Red Sox uniform and an additional Batting Practice jersey. We also provide all bats, helmets, catchers gear and other general baseball equipment. Each camper should bring their own glove, cleats and any accessories they may want for the week (sunglasses, batting gloves, etc).

Are there photographers available to capture the week's events?

Yes. We have professional photographers on site week to capture everything. Photos will be available for purchase both at the camp and afterward.

Are family and friends allowed at camp?

Yes. Friends, family and fans alike are allowed to attend all games free of charge. If you wish to have your family member or friend attend the functions, these are available at an additional charge and can be purchased on an individual basis or through a spectator package which includes access to all events, as well as other special amenities.

What is the Fantasy Camp Reunion game?

All campers are invited to take part in a reunion game at Fenway Park during the 2019 season. This is an additional charge, but includes a ticket to a Red Sox game, and the opportunity to play a game at Fenway Park the following day. See the Fenway Reunion tab for more detail on this exclusive opportunity.

What kind of physical shape should I be in for camp?

We recommend that every camper try to be in the best shape possible to ensure their Fantasy Camp experience is enjoyed to its fullest. That said, we realize that nobody attending is a professional athlete, so Olympic training ahead of time is in no way required. We also have the Red Sox professional training staff on site to help with any injuries or sore muscles that may result from camp.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Women must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate.

"What an amazing experience! Being able to take the field with a group of women who are so fun and supportive is a "once in a lifetime" experience I get to do every year! The amazing work of the coaches has me feeling like a major leaguer, bringing out skills in me I didn't even know I had! The camp staff is amazing and the keepsakes you will come home with will be the envy of all your Red Sox and baseball loving friends. There is a wonderful balance of playing baseball and social interaction opportunities helping you to establish great friendships with follow baseball "sisters". I talk about the experience all year long and start my countdown to next year as soon as I get home! Can't wait to come back!"

- Lois Dolley, 2019

"This is my 4th year and other than being one of the original 52 this was the best Camp. I have had the opportunity to meet some of the most incredible women and have learned so much. The coaches and staff are so supportive and offer constructive instruction. This camp is NOT a week long photo opp. You will work your butts off but take home memories, baseball skills and baseball sisters that last longer than camp. Thanks to the Red Sox for offering this opportunity that very few women have been offered. Take the chance and join us."

- Susan Presby, 2019

"Four years ago I signed up for camp thinking it was going to be something to check off my bucket list. I never played baseball as a kid, so I went into camp skeptical about playing. After four years, I have learned so much from the pros and coaches, and I can actually play now! Well, it's a multiple year bucket list thing. Why? It's a family, a sisterhood of baseball loving women!!!"

- Amy Modglin, 2019

"This was my third year at camp and it was wonderful! Everything about it is awesome and first class. The feelings of the camaraderie among everyone is amazing. The attention to detail, the schedule and the events were very thought out! I can recommend this camp to anyone who loves the Red Sox and baseball!"

- Carmen Pelletz

"The Red Sox Women's Fantasy Camp was absolutely amazing! It was my first year but the campers, coaching staff, and the camp staff made me feel like I was a veteran from the moment I got there. The facilities were top notch and made you feel like you were a part of the actual Sox team. Victor Rodriguez is one of the most down-to-earth coaches I've ever met. The whole professional staff were so approachable. This camp is so worth it! Highly highly recommend!"

"Finding this camp has been a life altering experience for me. I have found myself working to get in better shape with an eye for being 'baseball' ready in January. The whole experience is top-drawer and I love how you folks look to improve upon an already great experience for us campers.

Best. Time. Ever. (again!)"

- Evaun Boatman, 2019
