Nathan Eovaldi and Max Scherzer, Rangers

Eovaldi had to exit his start against the Nationals at Globe Life Field on Thursday during the sixth inning because of right groin tightness. The plan is for the right-hander to travel with the team to Kansas City and have imaging done there. While the Rangers will be cautious with their ace, it remains to be seen whether Eovaldi will be able to make his next scheduled start, which would be on Tuesday in Oakland. More >

Scherzer's rehab start with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday was pushed back a few days due to right thumb soreness. The veteran right-hander underwent back surgery for a herniated disk over the offseason and is still looking to make his season debut. More >

Walker Buehler, Dodgers

Buehler made his sixth rehab start on Tuesday, allowing one run in five innings and throwing 75 pitches. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Wednesday that Buehler would make his next start for the Dodgers on Monday against the Marlins at Dodger Stadium. It would be his first Major League appearance since June 10, 2022. More >

Mike Trout and Miguel Sanó, Angels

Trout will require surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. The severity of the injury is not known, but he is expected to return later in 2024. More >

Sanó was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday (retroactive to Sunday) with left knee inflammation. More >

Grayson Rodriguez, Austin Hays and Kyle Bradish, Orioles

The Orioles placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation on Wednesday. More >

Hays (left calf strain) took batting practice and ran the bases on the field at Camden Yards on Thursday. The 27-year-old outfielder could begin a Minor League rehab assignment "pretty soon," per manager Brandon Hyde.

Bradish (right UCL sprain) was reinstated off the 15-day IL on Thursday for his season debut against the Yankees. More >

Byron Buxton, Twins

Buxton exited Wednesday's game with right knee soreness after a stolen-base attempt in the second inning. More >

Chas McCormick, Cristian Javier and José Urquidy, Astros

The Astros placed McCormick on the injured list on Wednesday with a right hamstring injury he's battled for a while.

Javier (neck discomfort) threw a bullpen on Wednesday and could be in line to come off the injured list this weekend against the Mariners.

Urquidy (right forearm strain) threw 30 pitches in a live BP session on Wednesday. Manager Joe Espada said Urquidy may need one more live BP before going on a Minor League rehab assignment. More >

Blake Snell, Giants

Snell took the next step in his recovery from a left adductor strain by throwing a bullpen session in San Francisco on Wednesday. Giants manager Bob Melvin said the left-hander threw around 20 pitches and felt good. More >

Francisco Lindor and Kodai Senga, Mets

Lindor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs with flu-like symptoms and didn't start Thursday, but he later doubled in two runs as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning and remained in the game to play shortstop. More >

Senga (torn posterior shoulder capsule) threw a 21-pitch live bullpen session against Mets Minor Leaguers on Monday at Citi Field. Senga could return to the Majors around the time he's eligible to come off the injured list on May 27. More >

DJ LeMahieu, Yankees

LeMahieu (non-displaced fracture of right foot) reported to Yankee Stadium on Wednesday and said he was "feeling great." He appears be close to resuming baseball activities after fouling a ball off his right foot on March 16. Boone said that the hope is LeMahieu will be ready for a Minor League rehab assignment "in a handful of days." LeMahieu began a rehab assignment on April 23, but he was removed from the game after one inning. More >

Zack Gelof, Athletics

Gelof, who landed on the 10-day injured list on April 25 with a strained left oblique, returned to baseball activity by taking grounders at second base and playing catch prior to Wednesday’s series finale against the Pirates at the Coliseum. More >

Josh Lowe, Jose Siri and Isaac Paredes, Rays

Lowe (right oblique strain, right hamstring tightness) was scheduled to resume his rehab assignment Thursday.

A day after being in the middle of the Rays' benches-clearing fracas with the Brewers, Siri was out of the lineup while being treated for a bruised left leg resulting from when he was hit by the Freddy Peralta pitch that led to Peralta's controversial ejection on Tuesday night.

Additionally, Paredes was out of the lineup because his body and arm are "barking a little bit," manager Kevin Cash said. He is expected to be back Friday after Thursday's off-day. More >

Jackson Jobe, Tigers

Jobe, MLB Pipeline's No. 22 overall prospect, exited his start for Double-A Erie on Wednesday with a left hamstring strain and was placed on the IL. More >

Gary Sánchez, Brewers

Sánchez was removed in the first inning of Tuesday’s game against the Rays with right hamstring tightness after legging out a forceout and wasn't in the starting lineup Wednesday. More >

Vaughn Grissom and Masataka Yoshida, Red Sox

After having his debut delayed by the flu earlier this week, Grissom (right hamstring strain) should at last play his first game for the Red Sox on Friday when the club opens a three-game series in Minneapolis.

Yoshida (jammed left hand) has been examined by a specialist and underwent an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of his injury. With his hand still swollen on Wednesday, he was placed on the 10-day injured list while the club awaits the MRI results. He originally left Sunday's game against the Cubs after jamming his left hand on a swing. More >

Kyle Hendricks and Jordan Wicks, Cubs

Hendricks (low back strain) was scheduled to make a rehab start with Double-A Tennessee on Thursday. He is expected to throw 75-80 pitches. His last start for the Cubs came on April 21, when he felt worsening back pain after the issue flared up in his previous bullpen session between starts.

Wicks (left forearm strain) played catch on Tuesday for the first time since being scratched from his scheduled start on April 28, after which he was placed on the 15-day injured list. More >

Frankie Montas, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Tyler Stephenson and TJ Friedl, Reds

Montas (right forearm contusion) threw a side bullpen session Tuesday and reported no issues. He is slated to have another bullpen session before activation.

Encarnacion-Strand (left hand) and Stephenson (right hand) both remained out of the lineup on Wednesday, but neither is expected to land on the IL.

Friedl (right wrist fracture) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. More >
