Utility man exited series finale vs. Jays

TORONTO -- In his final night filling in for at shortstop, Red Sox infielder left Thursday's eventual 5-4 win over the Blue Jays with tightness in his left hamstring. On Friday, the Red Sox placed Holt on the 10-day disabled list with a hamstring strain.
The injury occurred when Holt pulled into second on a double in the top of the third inning. Holt grabbed his hamstring and tried to see if he could loosen it up, but he had to come out of the game.
The Red Sox had make a roster move to make room for the activation of Bogaerts on Friday, and though Holt was hopeful he wouldn't need to go on the disabled list, the deicsion was made to add him. Holt had been on fire of late, going 7-for-11 in this three-game series against the Blue Jays.
"It's tough to see because he's playing the way he's playing," said manager Alex Cora. "We'll make a decision tomorrow and see where he's at. The decision we make is for the benefit of the player and obviously the team, too."
