Devers heads back to DL with hamstring injury

BOSTON -- An up-and-down sophomore season for hit another pothole on Saturday night, when the third baseman was forced out of a 10-4 win over the Twins with a left hamstring injury that sent him back to the 10-day disabled list.  was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket in a corresponding move.
Devers had just returned from the DL following the All-Star break after being sidelined for 10 days with left shoulder inflammation.
The young slugger had just started to heat up again, crushing a game-tying homer that led the Red Sox to victory on Friday and a laser double on Saturday before the untimely injury.

Devers pulled up lame when he ran first to third on a double by in the bottom of the eighth.
"We'll know more [Sunday] morning but he said he felt it on [his bunt single in the first inning], he felt tight and then it grabbed him rounding second, so he's down there in the training room," said Red Sox manager Alex Cora.
Asked if he was worried Devers would need to go on the DL, Cora said, "Yeah, yeah, looks that way."
The Red Sox are likely to play Nunez at third base with getting most of the time at second base.
Devers is hitting .245/.295/.425 with 15 homers and 52 RBIs.
