BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today added catcher Jett Bandy to the team’s 2021 Spring Training roster as a non-roster invitee. The Red Sox have now invited 32 players to Major League Spring Training camp as non-roster invitees.

Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

Bandy, 30, will be attending his second consecutive Major League Spring Training camp with the Red Sox as a non-roster invitee. He spent the entire 2020 season at the Alternate Training Site, his first year in the Boston organization. The California native has appeared in 156 major league games with the Los Angeles Angels (2015-16) and Milwaukee Brewers (2017-18), making Opening Day rosters in both of his seasons with the Brewers. Bandy has made 123 starts at catcher in the majors, throwing out 27 of 94 (28.7%) attempted base stealers. A right-handed hitter, he has slugged .475 against left-handed pitchers during his major league career.
