Rockies Decline Team Option on LHP Brett Anderson

Anderson Will Become a Free Agent

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has declined their team option on left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson. Anderson will now be a free agent. 

Anderson, 26, played his first season with the Rockies in 2014 and went 1-3 with a 2.91 ERA (43.1 ip, 14 er), 13 walks and 29 strikeouts in eight starts. Anderson was acquired by Colorado from Oakland on December 10, 2013. The 2014 season was Anderson's sixth in the Majors, the first five of which he spent with the A's (2009-2013). In his six-year career, Anderson is 27-32 with a 3.73 ERA (494.0 ip, 205 er), 133 walks and 386 strikeouts in 92 games/81 starts. Anderson had two 60-day DL stints in 2014, first from April 14-through-July 13 (Fractured left index finger) and again from August 6-through-end of the season (Lower back surgery).
