November 1st, 2023

Here’s a look at Tuesday’s top prospect performers from the Arizona Fall League.

Cardinals: Victor Scott II, OF (No. 4), Scottsdale
Scott was an offensive star of the Scorpions’ 5-4 win over Peoria, setting the tone with a leadoff homer, his third long ball of the campaign. He also singled, scored twice and stole a base, his 14th of the fall.

Cubs: Kevin Alcántara, RF (No. 71), Mesa Solar Sox
Toolsy slugger Alcántara laced a run-scoring double in the second and broke the game open with a two-run homer in the fourth, his fifth of the Fall League. The fourth-ranked Cubs prospect finished with his AFL-high five RBIs on a 3-for-5 night.

Cubs: James Triantos, 3B (No. 9), Mesa Solar Sox
Triantos did a little bit of everything out of the leadoff spot, reaching base three times and scoring three runs as part of a multi-hit night. Such efforts are becoming routine for Triantos, who leads the Fall League with 31 hits in 19 games. His .437 average ranks second on the circuit.

D-backs: A.J. Vukovich, CF (No. 10), Salt River Rafters
This Arizona outfielder may only be rated an average runner, but Vukovich stole 36 bases during the regular season and has swiped 13 in the Fall League after picking up another in his latest outing. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a run scored against Mesa.

Marlins: Nasim Nuñez, SS (No. 17), Peoria
Nuñez swiped 52 bases during the regular season, the most in the Marlins system. But only once did he steal three bases in the same game – which is exactly what he did in his latest appearance for Peoria. Nuñez has gone 12-for-12 on swipe attempts in 16 games this fall. More »
