Boyd hasn’t won back-to-back starts since late 2019, but he has a chance if he can find the right pitching mix against a Royals lineup he’ll face for the fourth time this season. His changeup had been effective against them until their last meeting on May 22, in which he allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings.

Keller started well against the Angels on Wednesday with a six-pitch first inning. But things came undone late, and he wasn't able to get out of the sixth inning. Keller allowed five runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings, with four walks and four strikeouts.

Mize has given up as many runs in two June starts (six) as he did in five May outings, thanks in part to four home runs allowed. But he had two very strong outings against the Royals in May, including 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball at Kauffman Stadium on May 23.

Minor put together his finest start in a Royals uniform on Thursday against the A's, his former team. The veteran lefty allowed one run on three hits in seven innings, with just one walk and eight strikeouts.

Skubal is unbeaten in his last three starts after racking up 25 strikeouts in 17 innings against the White Sox and Yankees. His slider has become an increasingly effective swing-and-miss pitch, coupled with more consistent command of his fastball.

3-5, 4.85 ERA, 69 SO
Singer was solid on Friday against the A's, with the fourth inning as the exception. He allowed back-to-back doubles and a homer to give the A's a 3-0 lead in their eventual 4-3 win. But Singer did strike out seven in six innings, with just one walk allowed.
