Tigers sign top 17 Draft picks, 19 of 21 overall
Below is a list of every player drafted by the Tigers.
Each club has until 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 25, to come to terms with its Draft selections. If a player has exhausted his collegiate eligibility, he can sign at any time up until one week prior to the next year’s Draft.

Draft-and-follow picks -- high school and junior college players selected after the 10th round who attend a two-year college after the Draft -- can sign with their selecting teams for up to $250,000 up until a week prior to the following year’s Draft.
Players drafted from Round 11 on do not count against the bonus pools unless their signing bonus exceeds $150,000; any amount over that total will count against the pool.

Clark told Akeem Glaspie of the Indianapolis Star on Draft night that he had agreed to slot value for the No. 4 overall pick rather than No. 3. That’s essentially what he signed for, rounded up a tick.

Though McGonigle appeared to be weighing his options, the Tigers inked the last of their top six Draft picks well ahead of Tuesday's 5 p.m. deadline. Widely considered one of the best high school sluggers in this year's Draft, McGonigle said he modeled his hitting style after Phillies legend Chase Utley.
2 (45): Max Anderson, 2B, Nebraska

Anderson has signed for an under-slot $1,429,650. “I was just looking for a team to give me a shot, really,” he said on a call with reporters. “I mean, money wasn’t really a question for me, in all honesty. I’m a baseball player; I’ve got an advisor to worry about the money side.”
3 (76): Paul Wilson, LHP, Lakeridge High School (OR)
Pick value: $945,100
Signing bonus: $1,697,500 (plus $2,500 contingency bonus)
The Tigers signed Wilson away from a commitment to Oregon State by offering him second-round slot value. The son of former Giants starter Trevor Wilson is a big addition to a system that has produced plenty of pitching in recent years.
4 (107): Carson Rucker, 3B, Goodpasture Christian School (TN)
Pick value: $627,900
Signing bonus: $772,500
Rucker had indicated to local reporters that he planned to sign and bypass an opportunity to play at the University of Tennessee. The fourth-round pick received a bonus equivalent to a third-round slot, a reflection of how much the Tigers like his power potential and contact capabilities.
5 (143): Jaden Hamm, RHP, Middle Tennessee State

Hamm brings a big breaking curveball to go with a fastball that sat at 91-93 mph this spring, but topped out at 97. The Tigers could let him begin his pro career as a starter to let him try to hone his changeup and overall command, but his fastball-curve combination could also be effective in relief.

How bonus pools and pick values work
Each choice in the first 10 rounds comes with an assigned value, with the total for a club's selections equaling what it can spend in those rounds without incurring a penalty. If a player taken in the top 10 rounds doesn't sign, his pick's value gets subtracted from his team's pool. Clubs near the top of the Draft often spend less than the assigned value for those choices and use the savings to offer more money to later selections.
Teams that exceed their bonus pool face a penalty. Clubs that outspend their allotment by 0% to 5% pay a 75% tax on the overage. At higher thresholds, clubs lose future picks: a first-rounder and a 75% tax for surpassing their pool by more than 5% and up to 10%; a first- and a second-rounder and a 100% tax for more than 10% and up to 15%; and two first-rounders and a 100% tax for more than 15%.
