Lopez avoids trouble in another solid start
Righty strikes out three in three innings, but walks continue to be concern
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- White Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez worked his way into and out of trouble in the first inning Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lopez walked Christian Yelich to lead off the game and yielded a single to Lorenzo Cain. He retired Hernan Perez on a popup to Jose Abreu, struck out Travis Shaw as the runners moved up on a wild pitch and ended the inning when Eric Thames flied out to shortstop Leury Garcia.
"That boosted my confidence once I was able to finish the first with no runs," Lopez said after Chicago's 6-4 win.
Lopez allowed only one hit and struck out three over three scoreless innings, but he also walked three.
"All my pitches were good, especially my breaking ball, but I had to battle my fastball command early," he said.
:: Spring Training coverage presented by Camping World ::
Lopez has walked five in five innings in his first two starts.
"The walks are part of the game," he said. "I'm confident that's not going to happen during the season."

Left-handed bullpen candidate TJ House, who is a non-roster invitee and has pitched in the Majors with the Blue Jays and Indians, did not help his cause. He walked all three Brewers he faced in the seventh.
• Tyler Saladino, who is trying to earn a job as a utility player, homered in the seventh. He is hitting .421 in eight games.
Injury update
Right-handed pitching prospect Alec Hansen was scratched from a bullpen appearance in the game Tuesday. He has right forearm tightness and in all likelihood will be shut down for the remainder of Spring Training. An MRI came back clean. Hansen, who stands 6-foot-7, led the Minors with 191 strikeouts last season and is the fourth-ranked prospect in the club's farm system, according to MLB Pipeline.
