Venezuela Disaster Relief

Fans can continue to support the Astros Foundation Venezuela Relief efforts through monetary donations. Donations will be used to help with transportation costs.

The Astros Foundation held incredibly successful relief drives, July 2-3, to support Venezuela after two devastating earthquakes hit the country on June 24.

On July 2 outside Union Station at Daikin Park, the Astros and Astros Foundation, alongside second baseman Jose Altuve, bench coach Omar López and bullpen catcher Javier Bracamonte, all Venezuelan natives, held a relief drive that had an unprecedented response, collecting supplies needed for the people of Venezuela.

Astros employees, Astros Foundation volunteers, and almost 40 volunteers from Astros community partner Cheniere accepted donations on Thursday for over 11 hours. Astros partners H-E-B and Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages also supported the relief drive, donating supplies and more. H-E-B donated multiple pallets of water, snacks and hygiene products. Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages provided multiple pallets of water and Powerade.

This effort could not have happened without the commitment and donation of Crane Worldwide. Crane Worldwide is providing the trucking transportation to get the 115 pallets of non-perishable food items, household needs, hygiene items and more to Miami, while also working alongside their partners to provide the plane transportation to get the pallets to Venezuela.

The Astros Foundation partnered with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), a disaster relief organization dedicated to delivering the most aid to the most people in the shortest time. GEM is directly connected in Venezuela, partnering with I Love Venezuela to mobilize immediate relief efforts.
