MIAMI -- , who was traded by Miami in 2014, returned to Marlins Park to haunt his former team with a pair of two-run homers in Houston's 12-2 win on Tuesday.
The Astros' center fielder blasted a projected 450-foot shot, with an exit velocity of 109 mph according to Statcast™, in the third inning on a 90.5-mph fastball from Marlins starter Tom Koehler to extend the Astros lead to 8-2.
Marisnick then greeted reliever Nick Wittgren two innings later, slamming his 80-mph slider for another two-run blast, this one measuring a projected 415 feet with an exit velocity of 105 mph to make it a 10-2 game.

"What a special night for him," said manager A.J. Hinch. "He's been in [the Marlins'] organization before, so he's playing against some people that know him. Really impressive, he's hitting the ball to center field where a lot of people don't hit it. He hits two today. That probably warrants a start tomorrow."
Marisnick was dealt by Miami to the Astros in July 2014 along with , and a 2015 Draft pick for , and . But he said he felt no extra incentive against his former team.
"Not really, I mean obviously I have some good friends over there," Marisnick said. "It's fun playing against them, to do it here it was a pretty cool feeling."

Both homers clanged off the home run sculpture in center field. It marked the first multi-homer game of Marisnick's career. They were his third and fourth homers of the season.
"His first one was as clean a swing and as hard a contact as I've ever seen in the time I've been here," Hinch said. "It's untapped. He's always had that athleticism. I'm sure he'll have some bragging rights in the clubhouse for a little bit."
Marisnick said he knew from the moment it left his bat that the first rocket shot was headed out of the ballpark.

"I hit the first one pretty good, and then I was a little out front on the second one, but was able to get it up in the air," he said.
Marisnick hit a career-high nine homers for the Astros in 2015 in a career-high 133 games, and hit five last season in 118 games.
He finished the night with a seventh-inning double and scored for the third time in the game. Tuesday marked his first career game with three extra-base hits, and he also became the first Astros player with 10 total bases in a game this season.
